Will Khushi Agree To Live With Angi & Ranganath

Khushi With Anji

The last two episodes of Kuch Toh Log Kahenge have been quite emotional. Nidhi’s closest friend Anji was diagnosed to have a tumour due to which she suffered a miscarriage and chances of her reconceiving are very rare. This news completely shattered not only the expecting parents, Dr Ranganath and Anji, but the entire family and even her best friend Nidhi’s family. Now when everyone is upset, Nidhi and Dr Ashutosh have found a ray of hope in the form of Khushi, the girl who has been living with them for quite some time. Nidhi and Ashutosh want Anji and Ranganath to adopt Khushi. But Khushi seems to be upset with this proposal. And if a TV9 report is to be believed, Khushi again runs away from Ashutosh and Nidhi’s home after all the family members try to persuade her to live with Anji and Ranganath. So keep watching KTLK to see if Khushi agrees to live with Anji and Ranganath and also keep checking this blog for latest updates on the serial.

Will Ashutosh and Nidhi Adopt Khushi…?

Khushi With Her Grandma

When Kuch Toh Log Kahenge started almost a year ago (3rd October 2011), it was a show about how a young intern at a hospital, who has just completed her M.B.B.S from a college, falls in love with a very stern and the senior most doctor of the hospital. It was many times referred to as the remake of the famous Pakistani TV Sitcom Dhoop Kinare. But if you watch the show today, you perhaps won’t believe that the concept of the show is borrowed from the veteran Pakistani show. Its no longer about two people with a substantial age gap, falling in love with each other. Rather, now its perhaps about how they manage their duties and responsibilities, both at home and at work, despite their age (rather generation) gap. In a recent episode of KTLK we saw, Nidhi talks to Ashutosh about legally adopting Khushi (the young girl who has been with them for quite a few days). Ashutosh then responds by saying that they should carefully think about every aspect before taking any such decision as Nidhi might need to sacrifice her career if they decide to take the responsibility of a child. Now this is an obvious problem that almost every couple with a substantial age gap faces.(By the way, this underlines how realistic the serial is ?). Nidhi on one hand is young and wants to concentrate on her professional goals, while Ashutosh has achieved all the heights in his life and this perhaps is the most appropriate time for him to have children.

Now it’ll be really very interesting to see what decision the couple takes; and if they adopt Khushi, how they (especially Nidhi) manage their responsibilities and duties. So Keep watching KTLK.

Couldn’t Ashutosh and Nidhi Adopt Khushi…?

Khushi (KTLK)

Dr Ashutosh and Nidhi were quite happy with keeping a little girl “Khushi”, but since the police couldn’t find her parents, she was sent to an orphanage and Ashutosh and Nidhi were deprived of the privilege of raising the girl. When Khushi was taken away from them by the authorities, they were missing her badly. Now an obvious question that comes to a viewer’s mind is couldn’t they adopt the girl to raise her legally ? In the story Nidhi had to talk to the Chief Minister of the state(whom the doctor couple had operated to save his life) to take the custody of the girl till the time the police finds her parents. Well isn’t it strange ? I’m not a lawyer, but as far as I know about the law of our country, as I’ve mentioned earlier, they could have also legally adopted the girl.

Well whatever, Khushi is now with AshNi and it’ll be very interesting to see how well the couple takes care of her, especially when she has already once annoyed Nidhi by her mischiefs. According to the media-buzz, now its Ashutosh’s turn to get upset with Khushi. In the coming episodes, Ashutosh and Nidhi will call Dadi bua to celebrate Navratri, but Khushi will annoy Dadi bua with her antics. Nidhi and Ashutosh will even try to stop her, but being a child she won’t listen to anyone.

Mallika Exposed, What Next In KTLK…?

Nidhi Exposed Mallika

Mallika had long been enjoying living in Dr Ashutosh’s house as his best friend and that too under the nose of his beloved wife Nidhi in the pretext of being mentally ill ! But its all over now. Our Dr Nidhi is once again as happy, as cheerful and as bubbly as she used to be. In a thrilling episode of KTLK, that no KTLK fan could afford to miss (still if you missed, you can watch it here), Nidhi herself exposed Dr Mallika’s ill wills. Mallika had added poison in Nidhi’s food and fortunately enough for Nidhi, Anji called her on her phone just before she was about to eat that poisonous food and informed her that Mallika had ordered Sleeping pills from a medical store without providing any prescription. And when Nidhi searched for the pills in Mallika’s room, she found an empty bottle (of sleeping pills). This was enough for Nidhi to guess that Mallika must have emptied the bottle in Nidhi’s plate. And that’s how Mallika’s real face was revealed. I just loved the scene in which Ashutosh bestowed a tight slap on Mallika and asked her to get out of his house and his life for ever.

So the Mallika drama is over now, or at least for the time being. (I said, “for the time being” because there is all probability that Mallika might play another evil trick.) So what’s the next drama that KTLK viewers are going to enjoy. Well, the answer is quite obvious, Anji-Ranganath marriage. Vishal Malhotra (who plays Dr Ranganath), while speaking to Telechakkar, confirmed that Anji-Ranganath marriage is the next big thing that the audience will enjoy. The Anji-Ranganath marriage is expected to be as lavish as was Nidhi-Ashutosh marriage. It’ll be interesting to see weather Anji-Ranganath married life will also becomes a part of the show’s story or not.

Meanwhile, a few day ago, another news was making rounds that Rohan (played by Karan Wahi) might return as he said in a casual interview that on the last day on the sets of KTLK the producers didn’t tell him that his role was over, so may be that was not actually the last day. Now if that happens, it’ll be like a role reversal for Nidhi and Ashutosh. Till now Nidhi had been bearing Mallika, now Ashutosh might have to bear Rohan.

So all KTLK fans stay tuned and keep watching KTLK to relish the Anji-Ranganath marriage sequence and to see if Rohan makes a come back or Mallika tries something even more wicked. And to cheer you up there is a good news that KTLK has been showing positive trends in TRPs. The average TRP of the show for the week ending on July 6 was 1.24.

Mallika Returns, Drama Returns….Will TRP Also Return…?

Mallika Tattered Kuch Toh Log Kahenge

When Mallika married Jagan, I felt her role in the serial is over and she’d never come back and the serial would go off air after Nidhi and Ashutosh tie the knot. But when it was announced that the serial will continue, but will be shifted to the 11 PM slot, I was just wondering, what will the  writers do to keep the audience engaged even at an odd time slot. After the Nidhi-Ashutosh marriage sequence, which garnered a 1+ TRP, the show’s ratting points had started dropping again. The TRP of the show for the week ending on May 26 was just 0.76. So in order to perhaps reengage the audience and revive the drama in the story, the writers decided to play the Mallika triumph card. Mallika not only returned, but returned in a shocking avatar.

Dr Ashutosh encountered Mallika in a tattered condition when he was going to a hotel to get an ice-cream for Nidhi. She was very afraid and mentally unstable. So when Ashutosh asked her to come with him, she just ran away. And in an attempt to catch her, Ashutosh also suffered a mild accident and hurt his knee. This knee accident track was actually introduced just because Sharad Kelkar (who plays Ashutosh) recently underwent a knee surgery and therefore needed some rest. Coming back to the story, Ashutosh then asked Nidhi to find Mallika from anywhere. Despite her friend Anji’s advice that she should forget Dr Mallika, Nidhi not only helped Dr Mallika, but also admitted her to the Kotinis General Hospital. If the buzz in the entertainment media is to be believed, in the coming episodes it will be revealed that Mallika’s husband Jagan had physically tortured her, and there are also rumours that Mallika will suffer a memory loss.

Now that the show has almost the same characters that it had when it started (No Armaan, No Rohan), it’ll be very interesting to see what impact can Mallika’s re-entry make on the show’s TRPs.

On a related note, Sony has now gone HD; so you can now enjoy the romantic AshNi moments crystal clear in High Definition.

Dr Nidhi’s Post-Marriage Attire…

Dr Nidhi Dress Before and After Marriage

Dr Nidhi’s elegant Kurtas have been a rage among young Indian girls. The Kurtas, besides being simple are also quite fashionable. Kritika Kamra (who plays Nidhi) has told in many interviews that she gets lots of complements about the dresses she wears in the serial. But now our Dr Nidhi is married, so she has also changed her attire. Now she looks like a typical ornament laden Indian Bahu. Did you notice the change in her dressing sense ?

Ashutosh Weds Nidhi….!

Ashutosh Weds Nidhi

After a lot of fuss and emotional drama, we finally witnessed the moment that we have been waiting for since the 3rd of October, when the show started. Dr Ashutosh and Nidhi are no longer just a Doctor and an intern or two disheartened lovers, they now share a very special relationship and are bound together in the divine institution that the world calls Marriage.

The special thing about the AshNi Marriage Ceremony was that it, in a way, revived the Indian traditions and rituals. While in most on-screen marriages, there is Disco Dance, DJ, Rock Band, etc., etc., but this marriage was performed as per Indian rituals and even for music, folk singer Malini Awasthi was chosen, who made a special appearance in Nidhi’s Haldi ceremony.   For me the best moment in the entire marriage proceedings was when Dr Ashutosh and Nidhi shook their legs on the “Piya O Re Piya” song. It was really a pleasure watch the couple dance.

Besides the AshNi marriage there is one more thing that every KTLK fan must know. From May 28, there will be no KTLK at 8 PM. No, the show is not going off air. The show will continue at 11 PM and only Mon-Thu (no episode on Friday). This is being done to perhaps make room for the new show “Byaah Hamari Bahu Kaa. This is not the first time that Sony has taken such a decision. In February also, there was a news that “Kuch Toh Log Kahenge” would be shifted to 11 PM slot as “Shubh Vivah” was expected to take the 8 PM slot. Sony even aired promos that “Kuch Toh Log Kahenge” is going to be shifted to 11 PM. But very soon the promos were taken off as the channel decided to continue the show at 8. But it is very  unlikely that Sony will take a U-Turn this time again. In a statement given to the Times Of India, show’s producer Rajan Shahi confirmed the news and also added that the move might prove beneficial for the show as the audience will now have an undivided time-slot to watch the show.

In a way, this news has come as a sigh of relief for KTLK lovers as it has put a break on the speculations that the new show “Byaah Hamari Bahu Kaamight completely replace KTLK. Though it is still replacing KTLK at the 8 PM slot, you can catch “Kuch Toh Log Kahenge” at 11. And even if you follow the “Early to bed, Early to rise….” philosophy, you can watch “Kuch Toh Log Kahenge” on Youtube or VideoChaska at the time of your will.

Let’s Admit, Kuch Toh Log Kahenge Is Not a Commercial TV Series…

Kuch Toh Log Kahenge (Profile)

Back in October 2011, when “Kuch Toh Log Kahenge was launched, Sony TV was very optimistic about it. Even most of the TV Pandits had predicted that the serial will be a huge success at the small screen. And the most important reason behind all these optimistic predictions was the fact that 24 years ago (in 1987), “Dhoop Kinare”, with a similar story-line had been such an immensely popular TV series that it had made its leads Rahat Kazmi and Marina Khan household names in Pakistan. But, before making all these predictions we overlooked the fact that “Dhoop Kinare” used to run in 1987, a time when TV, as a medium of entertainment was just evolving. But by the time “Kuch Toh Log Kahenge” was launched, TV audience had got used to to all those ultra-glamorous and unrealistic sequences, that have now become common in most of the TV serials. “Kuch Toh Log Kahenge” is not the show for the audience who wants a new twist every next episode. Seriously, if you compare KTLK’s story-line with those of other TV series, presently being aired, you will find that KTLK has the simplest and the most realistic story. When Dr Ashutosh met a car accident, everyone was expecting that he will lose his memory after he’ll recover from the accident. But Kamlesh Pandey (the writer) didn’t do that, perhaps just to keep the story simple and realistic. Had it been some other serial, like “Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi or “Kasauti Zindagi Kay”, Ashutosh would have lost his memory from the time he had met Nidhi, and Mallika would have been successful to convince him to marry her (may be by blackmailing him for his Baba’s house).

That’s why I say, Kuch Toh Log Kahenge” is not the show for the common folks in the country, who can not watch a straight forward love-story. It is the show of those elites who are not interested in those unrealistic “memory-loss” and “marriage-divorce” sequences, but want to watch a serious and mature love-story.

Sony Abandons Kuch Toh Log Kahenge Repeat Telecast…

Update- Sony today(02.05.12) restored all the repeats (including KTLK) at their usual timings. (Though the channel's website still does not show KTLK's repeat telecast at 12 noon.)

Today when I tuned in to Sony TV at 12 noon to watch “Kuch Toh Log Kahenge, I was surprised to see C.I.D. running on the channel instead of KTLK. I immediately logged on to SET India’s official website to check if they have changed the schedule. But there, I was taken by even more surprise. Today(01.05.12) they will air their top performing crime thrillers “C.I.D.” and “Crime Petrol”, the whole day. This means today there will be no repeat telecasts of any show (except C.I.D. and “Crime Petrol”) on Sony. However all the shows will run at their usual timings after 07:30 PM (The Prime Time). Tomorrow(02.05.12), while the repeats of most of other shows will be restored at their usual timings, “Kuch Toh Log Kahenge” will be still missing. Here are screen-shots of SET India’s official website, showing the channel’s schedule for today and tomorrow-:

Folk Singer Malini Awasthi To Make A Special Appearance In Kuch Toh Log Kahenge

Malini Awasthi

Ashutosh and Nidhi’s engagement is over. Both Dr Ashutosh and Nidhi are now eagerly waiting for the day when they will finally get married. As you might know, in Indian culture, there are a number of rituals that are performed by the relatives of both, the bride and the bride groom. One of these rituals is the “Mehandi Rasm (मेहंदी रस्म)”, in which Henna (or Mehandi) is applied on Bride’s skin (particularly on the hands and the feet). Famous folk singer Malini Awasthi is making a guest appearance in the show to enhance the glory of Dr Nidhi’s Mehandi Celebration. Saas Bahu Aur Betiyaan (A TV show about TV serials that airs on the Hindi News Channel Aaj Tak) showed us the on location scenes of the shoot. Here is the video-:

Saas Bahu Aur Betiyaaan (Aaj Tak)

Now when so much is happening on the sets, Sony’s indifferent approach towards the show is really unjustifiable. When Sony can promote its other serials, such as “Dekha Ek Khwab” and “Kya Hua Tera Vaada” , even on other networks, why can’t it promote "Kuch Toh Log Kahenge” ? Is there any kind of rift between the producers and the channel ?

Ashutosh and Nidhi Get Engaged,……But Is Rohan the New Mallika Now…?

Ashutosh and Nidhi EngagementFinally after after a lot of struggle that they did to convince Nidhi’s family, Dr Ashutosh and Dr Nidhi Verma got engaged. Lets just recapitulate what we saw in the last few episodes. Rohan confessed that he had fallen in love with Nidhi. While, Col. Verma, Dadi Bua, and all other family members were happy to learn that, Nidhi felt very distressed on coming to know that her best friend, whom she trusted the most has fallen in love with her, knowing that she is already in a relationship with Dr Ashutosh. To come out of this stressful situation Nidhi decided to go Europe. It was not made clear weather she was going just for a period of time for introspection or to permanently settle down there. Well whatever, this proposed Europe trip made me nostalgic of the golden initial episodes of the show, when Nidhi was going Europe for a one month tour with her baba, and then an unknown force (her love for Dr Ashutosh) kept her from going. Anyways, coming back to the current story, Dr Mathur (Dr Ashutosh’s Baba and Nidhi’s Grandfather) also visited Nidhi’s place to talk to her father about the relationship of Nidhi and Ashutosh. There he encountered Col. Verma, with whom his daughter Nandani (or Guddi) had married, without caring about his approval of the relationship. Dr Mathur tried to convince Col. Verma not to commit a mistake, he himself had committed in the past by abandoning his daughter Nandani because she had married against his will. Here Dr Mathur also came to know that Dr Nidhi is his Granddaughter. Dr Mathur was perhaps successful to change the  Col. Verma’s heart. So, before Nidhi could board the flight to Europe, Col. Verma came to the scene and declared that he had no objection with her relationship with Dr Ashutosh. After Nidhi’s father’s approval of the relationship, both Nidhi and Ashutosh were on the ninth cloud. The very next day Col. Verma visited Ashutosh’s place to fix the date for the engagement ceremony. Rohan, who as the only person not happy about the relationship, tried to show the grey side of his character by hiding the engagement ring. But very soon he realised his mistake, and the engagement ceremony went on smoothly. Thus finally, the two lovebirds got engaged. But will they marry ? Will the wedding ceremony be completed as smoothly as the engagement ceremony ? Or will Rohan play some tricks ? Sharad Kelkar, who plays Ashutosh, recently told the media that, he can only confirm that Nidhi and Ashutosh will get engaged (they have engaged in fact), but refused to comment on weather they will marry or not.
Rohan (played by Karan Wahi) , these days, has become the most prominent character in the serial these days. This is because it is only up to Rohan, weather to allow Nidhi and Ashutosh’s marriage to go on, or to cause any hindrance. Lets see what Rohan does ? Will he play a new Mallika ?

Why is Sony Not Promoting KTLK (Kuch Toh Log Kahenge)…?

Sony TV

It’s been more than 15 days since I saw a KTLK ad (or promo) on TV. While Sony TV seems to be very excited to promote its thriller series “CID” and “Crime Petrol”, (it should be so, as while the former has been ranked by many as one of the best TV series in the history of Indian Television and has been running continuously for the last 15 years, the later is doing quite a nice job at highlighting the social issues of our society), its most popular soap, “Bade Achche Lagate Hai” and “Saas Bina Sasuraal”, which topped the TRP charts before being shifted to the 9 PM time slot; Sony is not showing any interest in “Kuch Toh Log Kahenge”, which, when launched was expected to be Sony’s biggest triumph card. Considering “Doop Kinare’s”success (for those who don’t know KTLK’s story is based on “Dhoop Kinare”, a Pakistani drama that aired on PTV about 25 years ago), and its dependable caste, which initially included the veteran actor Mohnish Bahl and a bubbly new comer Kritika Kamra, who had gained fame from her role of “Aarohi” in Imagine TV’s “Kitni Mohabbate Hai” . This indifferent approach of SET India towards the show might be attributed to the low TRPs that the show received right from the day one. The show never reached even the 2 TVRs mark and The latest TRP of the show is 0.8. TRPs have been constantly falling since Sharad Kelkar replaced Mohnish Bahl as Dr Ashutosh.

Does that mean KTLK (Kuch Toh Log Kahenge) is nearing end…?

A few days ago there was a rumour that KTLK (Kuch Toh Log Kahenge) and “Dekha Ek Khwab” might go off air to make room for Indian Idol 6. But Sony’s Business Head Ms Sneha Rajani rubbished the rumour on Twitter. Here is a snapshot of her tweet.Sneha Rajani Screenshot

This tweet might give KTLK fans a sigh of relief. But this relief is going to be a very short lived one. This is because, recently Amitabh Bachchan had a meeting with Sony officials. I think you’d have got it !… Right ? Anyway, if you didn’t, I’d like to inform you that the meeting was about fixing dates for KBC-6 (Kaun Banega Corerpati 6) shooting . So, after Indian Idol 6, KBC 6 is all set to pose danger for KTLK.

First Indian Idol 6 will go on air replacing Comedy Circus (if reports are to be believed), and then after a couple of months (may be sometime in August or September ), KBC 6 is expected to hit the screen. Now, since “Dekha Ek Khwab” and KTLK are not doing very good (in terms of TRPs), there is all possibility that Sony might take a decision to take these shows off air. Well whatever happens…..lets hope for the best.

That's all for now ! But stay in touch. I’ll be posting even more interesting buzz & trivia about the show.

Dr Ashutosh Meets His Baba…

Dr Ashutosh and Baba (Kuch Toh Log Kahenge)

In the last few episodes we saw that Dr Ashutosh’s Baba (Dr Mathur a.k.a. Alok Nath) is an Alzheimer's Patient at Jeevan Sandhya Nursing Home. And coincidently Dr Nidhi is the doctor who is looking after him there. Due to Alzheimer's, he does not remember anything about his past. One day he tries to remember something about his house, a blurred image just flashes and then disappears. Then he goes out with Dr Nidhi to try and find his house. And finally, amidst frightening thunderstorms they reach the same old house. Now Dr Nidhi understands that her patient is non other than her beloved Ashutosh’s Baba.

On the other hand Mallika tries to blackmail Ashutosh. She asks him to marry her to fulfil the promise that he had made when she gifted Baba’s house to him.

Well, that’s the story so far, but; Now What ? What can we expect in the coming episodes of KTLK ? Dr Ashutosh is sure to meet his Baba, as the scenes have been shot and will be aired in a couple of days. There are also reports that Dr Ashutosh will himself shave his Baba’s long beard. But, at the same time there are a number of side stories as well. Rohan has recently fallen in love with Dr Nidhi, Mallika has gifted the old house to Ashutosh and has taken all the credit, Nidhi and Ashutosh have taken pledge not to fall in love again, a new character Jagan has come all the way from US, and last but not the least, Angi-Ranganath story. It would be very interesting to see how Nidhi reacts when she gets to know that her best friend Rohan has fallen in love with her…?, and what will be Dr Ashutosh’s reaction when he will come to know that Sandeep Bakchi was Mallika’s agent…?

Whatever happens in the the future episodes, one thing good for the serial has already happened. Guess what… ? Our jolly and ever smiling Dr Nidhi has returned. Yes ! Dr Ashutosh’s Baba has been quite successful in making Nidhi feel happy. Recently, when she rushed to Dr Kotnis General Hospital to tell Dr Ashutosh that her Alzheimer's Patient (who is in fact Dr Ashutosh’s Baba) was a neurologist and might have an acquaintance with him, her entire body language (the way she barged into Dr Ashutosh’s cabin, started telling him about her patient and then took up the glass of water on his table, without feeling the need of any formalities) made me nostalgic of the good old days when Dr Nidhi Verma was working as an intern at Dr Kotnis General Hospital. I think the story makers have finally figured out what is actually beneficial for the show.

That's all for now ! But stay in touch. I’ll be posting even more interesting buzz & trivia about the show.

Rohan’s Character To Turn Grey…

Dr Nidhi With Rohan

Karan Wahi a.k.a. Rohan, who has so far been playing a positive character in the serial, might soon be seen in a grey character. Yes ! you got it right he’ll play quite the same role in Nidhi’s life, that Mallika plays in Dr Ashutosh’s life.

In an interview Karan revealed that his character (Rohan) will become possessive about Nidhi and will ultimately fall in love with her. As you might expect these changes in the feelings of Rohan will be portrayed slowly and smoothly. Rohan will feel jealous seeing Nidhi walking with Dr Ashutosh hand in hand.

It’ll be very interesting to see how Kamlesh Pandey portrays the entire situation; well there is also a possibility of a love triangle here…! .So there is a lot of emotional drama waiting for you in the coming episodes of KTLK. Keep watching KTLK Mon-Fri at 8 PM, 11 PM and 12 Noon only on Sony.(Please note that from 02-04-12 the repeat telecast of KTLK is being aired at 12 Noon instead od 3 PM)

That's all for now ! But stay in touch. I’ll be posting even more interesting buzz & trivia about the show.

Sharad Kelkar Replaces Mohnish Bahl… But Why Did He Leave…?

Mohnish Bahl & Sharad Kelkar

After Mohnish Bahl left the show, there were a lot of buzz about who will replace him as Dr. Ashutosh in the show. A number of names, including Anuj Saxena, Cezanne Khan, and Sharad Kelkar were discussed, but finally Sharad Kelkar was finalised to play the crucial role. In fact in the latest episode of the show Sharad has been shown as Dr. Ashutosh.

Now that one of the leads in the story has been replaced, it’ll be very interesting to see how the audience takes this change over the time. Initially however, as expected, the audience is feeling heart-broken about the replacement. KTLK’s writer, Kamlesh Pandey says “Exits and replacement are done things in daily soaps, both internationally and in India. It’s the story that drives the show and not actors. They bring their talent though they are visible part of the show”. Weather Kamlesh thinks the right way or not, only time can tell; but one must admit, the way Mohnish Bahl acted, the viewers, especially the serious ones, related themselves to him. They had discovered a real-life character in Dr. Ashutosh, and in real life, the whole personality of a person can not change like this.

Now coming to another point of discussion, which has also gathered a lot attention of the entertainment media, Why did Mohnish Bahl left the serial..?Mohnish Bahl is a renowned actor who has balanced his acting career between movies and daily soaps. He is not at all known for leaving a show mid-way. Then why did he do that..? Some say that there was a rift between the creative team of the show and him, while some others say that he was not comfortable shooting with Kritika Kamara. He himself and the channel says, his back pain was the only reason. However according to some media sources, his back pain was indeed a reason, but not the only reason. A number of factors led to the channel and Mr. Bahl arriving at a unanimous decision that Mr. Bahl will no longer work for the serial.

That's all for now ! But stay in touch. I’ll be posting even more interesting buzz & trivia about the show.

A SHOCKER: Mohnish Bahl Quits KTLK…

Mohnish Bahl as Dr Ashutosh

After a good news that KTLK will continue at its present time slot of 8 PM, here comes a bad news, in fact an utterly bad one for some. Actor Mohnish Bahl who is playing Dr. Ashutosh in the serial has left the serial. He and the Sony Channel have regarded his Back Pain as the reason. According to Sony TV’s Business Head Ms. Sneha Rajani, Mohnish’s doctors advised him to take rest, and in that case he would not be able to give his all to the show, show they agreed that Mohnish will quit.

But this is only what’s being officially said by the channel and Monish himself. Fact of the moment is that there is a buzz in the media that Mohnish quit the show because he was not very comfortable shooting with Kritika Kamara (Nidhi Verma in the serial). Well there seems to be some point in this, because many times earlier we have seen that in a number of scenes Mohnish Bahl and Kritika Kamara appeared in different frames.

Well now whatever the reason was, the story writers had to fit his exit in the story in such a way that the viewers don’t feel very unpleasant and, if possible, a new twist is brought in the story. For this Dr. Ashutosh had to die. Yes! believe me the central character of the story has died (may be temporarily, I mean he might be brought back with a plastic surgery or something like that.). But the biggest question is will the new actor who will don the hat of Dr Ashutosh be able get the support from the viewers ? Lets just wait & watch…

That's all for now ! But stay in touch. I’ll be posting even more interesting buzz & trivia about the show.

KTLK To Continue At 8 PM…

Update(11.05.12)- Sony has once again decided to change KTLK's timing. From 28th May the show will air Mon-Thu at 11 PM.

"Kuch Toh Log Kahenge" To Continue at 8 PM.
There’s a great news for all “Kuch Toh Log Kahenge “ fans out there. In my last post I mentioned about the confusion about the timing of the show; weather the show will be shifted to 11 PM or will it continue at 8 ? Things have become quite clear now as Sony officials have officially told the media that they have changed their minds and KTLK will continue at 8 PM. “Shubh Vivaah” the new show by UTV, will air at 7:30.
Sony officials have reportedly changed their minds due to two main reasons. The first one being that, other channels like “Star Plus” & “Zee TV” are doing well at 7:30 slot, so Sony also decided to extend its Prime Time by introducing a new soap at 7:30.
And the second reason, which all KTLK fans will be happy to learn about, is that Sony thinks that KTLK’s popularity is increasing, though slowly, but steadily; and if media reports are to be believed, a few Sony officials even admitted that “Kuch Toh Log Kahenge” is among their top shows, right there with “C.I.D”. & “Bade Achche Lagate Hain”, so they didn’t want to take the risk of shifting it to an odd slot like 11 PM.

Confusion About Time Slot…

Update(11.05.12)- Sony has once again decided to change KTLK's timing. From 28th May the show will air Mon-Thu at 11 PM.

Kuch Toh Log Kahenge (39)

There seems to be a lot of confusion about the time-slot of KTLK. Sony itself seems to be in state of confusion- weather to continue the show at 8 PM or shift it to the odd slot of 11 PM. A few days back there was a buzz in media that a new show, “Shubh Vivah” will replace   KTLK at 8 PM, however TV promos of “Shubh Vivah” have made it clear that its not going to happen as “Shbh Vivah” will be aired at 7:30.

Now if “Shubh Vivah” will air at 7:30, then what will replace KTLK at 8.

So most probably KTLK will continue at 8 even after 27th Feb. Ironically Sony also aired a TV ad few days back telling us that KTLK will air at 11 PM from 27th Feb. So obviously there is a kind of confusion prevailing  regarding the time slot of KTLK and SET itself is responsible for this. I’ll keep you updated in this regard as soon as I get any info.

I’ve written this post in a hurry, so please pardon any mistakes that I might have committed.

3 Changes In Show’s Schedule…

Update(11.05.12)- Sony has once again decided to change KTLK's timing. From 28th May the show will air Mon-Thu at 11 PM.

Kuch Toh Log Kahenge (30)

SET India is set to make three crucial changes to KTLK’s schedule. These changes are –: (1.) The show-run has been reduced to 30 min from 21st Jan, (2.) KTLK will be aired at 11 PM from 27th Feb (There is already a repeat telecast of the show at 11, but now the 11 PM telecast will be the original telecast.) and (3.) The show (from 27th Feb) will run from Mon to Thu instead of Mon to Fri.

All these changes being made just to accommodate two new shows, Kya Hua Tera Wada & Shubh Vivah. 11 PM shift, however to an extent, may also be attributed to the low TRPs at 8 PM slot and comparatively higher ones at 11 PM.

The latest TRP of the show (at 8 PM) is 1.5. It was almost the same for the preceding week as well. I believe this is a result of negative promotion of the serial by Sony. While Mallika’s suicide sequence was advertised on Sony TV, there was not even a single TV ad for the beautiful violin date scene. May be it’s been so because Sony is engaged in promoting the newly introduced serials, Kya Hua Tera Wada & Shubh Vivah. Sony must realise that its equally important to adequately promote the existing serials as well.
Coming back to the point of change of time slot, show’s producer Rajan Shah refused to make any comment on the issue saying that "It's a channel prerogative to comment on time slots." However according to media sources Team KTLK is not at all disappointed with the change, in fact the are of the opinion the this move will prove to be beneficial for the show.

Time Shift…

Update(11.05.12)- Sony has once again decided to change KTLK's timing. From 28th May the show will air Mon-Thu at 11 PM.

Kuch Toh Log Kahenge

Kuch Toh Log Kahenge” has averaged around 1.5 TVRs at 8 PM time slot, but at the same time the show has done quite better at 11 PM. Finally SET India seems to have realised that a mature show like KTLK, in which things are not as dramatic as in other over-dramatic household soaps like “Balika Vadhu” & “Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon”. Things are shown quite subtly in KTLK, &  in my opinion that’s the beauty of the show. But perhaps, the Prime-Time audience wants High Voltage drama and a lighter show like KTLK is the most suitable for 11 PM. So as a result the channel (SET India) has taken the decision to shift  Kuch Toh Log Kahenge” to the 11 PM slot sometime in February. A new show by UTV will be aired at 8 PM. But now the big question is, will KTLK run only from Monday to Thursday, as on Friday, there is “Crime Petrol” at 11 PM and KTLK repeat telecast is delayed to 12 Midnight. I don’t think the original telecast can be delayed by an hour on a weekly basis

Story Back On Track…

Dr Ashutosh & Nidhi

After a number of hits & misses and a hard time for viewers, the show seems to have come back on track. If the reactions on Mohnish Bahl’s Facebook Page are to be believed, the audience enjoyed the Jan 13 episode very much in which Dr Ashutosh introspected his feelings and Prorogued his hate for Nidhi; and now he has only love for her in his heart. But the big question is, will he love Nidhi even after knowing that she has sold his Baba’s house to a third person ? And another, even bigger question is, who is this man called Sandeep Bagheecha ? Does he have any connection with Rohan ?

I think, after all this house matter gets over, Nidh’s ailing Baba will ask her to marry, may be as his last wish and Dadi Bua will suggest the name of Rohan. Well this is only my personal prediction, I haven’t read any media reports saying so.

So a lot of interesting stuff is waiting for us in the episodes to come, so keep watching. And one thing more, I’ve added a few backstage pictures in the Gallery Section of the blog; so don’t forget to check them out.

Merry Time For “Kuch Toh Log Kahenge”…

Kuch Toh Log Kahenge

Its actually been a very Happy New Year for team KTLK. Its probably the most talked about show on TV these days. Although it has so far not been able to muster very high TVRs, the show has received overwhelming response and both, the channel (SET India) and the producer are quite happy with it. And now to add to their delights, there is another good news for them. The show has been honoured with the “Lion's Gold Awards.”

Producer Rajan Shahi was awarded the Critics Award for the Best Producer and Kritika Kamra,Mohnish Behl, Vishal Malhotra and Ishiita Sharma were felicitated for various categories.

In a media interview, the producer Rajan Shahi happily acknowledged, "I am really overwhelmed with the response. The concerned jury decided on the felicitation after a proper research and conveyed that our show was a major topic of discussion these days, among the public. More than the award I am really grateful for the mass appreciation that we have received."

"I had never expected the show to be this popular and all the credit goes to the entire team of the show. I am thankful to Sony TV for their faith and support. This honour is a real morale booster to keep up the good work", conveyed Rajan.

We hope that the show receives hundreds of awards & felicitations. Lets now talk about the current story-line of the serial. Team KTLK may be extremely happy in real life, but things are very different for the reel characters. While Dr Ashutosh is going through the worst dilemma of his life, weather to love or hate Nidhi; Nidhi is also going through a hell. On one hand she has to take of her Baba and arrange for money to pay off the loan, on the other hand she also does not want to to sell Dr Ashutosh’s Baba’s house as it means everything for her beloved.

So keep enjoying KTLK & I once again wish best of luck to the entire cast & crew of the show.

Separation Saga-II Begins…

Dr Mallika & Suhasani

The writers and other creative people behind the story  of Kuch Toh Log Kahenge are all set to start another separation saga in the show. Many of the viewers and even some of the actors (including the lead Mohnish Bahl) are not very convinced with the story-line. Mohnish Bahl says that he’d wonder if this gets TRPs. In fact he had some different suggestions for the story. But anyways, I think that KTLK’s TRPs will increase, as has the trend been for the last 2-3 weeks. I don’t mean that audience likes to watch separation of lovers. TRPs are affected by audience’s anticipation of the story. And since Dr Ashutosh & Nidhi reunited in the last week and then promos showing the house issue were aired, people must have tempted to watch this week’s episodes.

Another issue with the show is that the two leads are often seen in separate frames. Its also not that one of them is at leave or something like that. The surprising thing is that, this seems to be intentional. No one knows why ?

Now that Separation Saga-II has begun, its the right time to embed a slideshow video that I made after the Dr Ashutosh fired Nidhi from Dr Kotinis General Hospital. Here’s that slideshow-:

Hope you’d have enjoyed this heart-touching slideshow.

The House Issue Comes Up In The New Year…

Dr Ashutosh with His BaBa

First of all a very Happy New Year to all KTLK fans. May this year bring prosperity in your life, and TRPs for our favourite show “Kuch Toh Log Kahenge”. The show has a New Year surprise for its viewers. The most interesting track of the drama (The House Track) has finally come into focus. But this sudden change in storyline, which was so far focusing on relationships and professionalism has received mixed views. Many of the viewers think that its too early to bring the House Issue into focus. In fact I’m also among those thinking so. May be the creative heads of the serial are doing so to muster TRPs ! Whatever you say, this track change has made the story even more gripping. But the big question is, What Next ? I guess Dr Mallika will be adding flavours to the story in the coming episodes. We’ve already seen that she is trying to convince his brother to cancel Col. Verma’s (Nidhi’s father’s) loan.

Mohnish Bahl (plays Dr Ashutosh) posted on his Facebook Page that he gave a few suggestions to the creative people behind the story of the serial.  Here is that post-:

“On a year end note, about KTLK, these are the suggestions I have put forth:
1. Try and logically bring Niddhi back to the hospital (as a doctor, not as a lunch delivery person) so that Ashutosh & Niddhi can be in the same environment they were before their realization. Then develop the subtle moments whenever they intentionally or unintentionally come across each other. All this keeping the medical part running concurrently to bring realism to everything. Interesting would have been if only Ranganath 'knew' about them and they did not know he knew etc etc. Mallika doesn't know (but now that's not possible) & is constantly trying to find out etc .... I felt the possibilities were endless considering my cv team is very capable. This would increase the maximum scenes to be between Ashu & NIddhi rather than Ashu & xyz .... or Niddhi & xyz....and more importantly, the process of falling in love, which has not been shown (atleast I have not seen it) could at least have become the process of discovering each other after admission of love....
2. If the above is not possible (for whatever reason), then have two/three good meaningful scenes between Ashu & Niddhi each episode. Where they talk to each other, about each other. The house thing should have come later. Good is more important than many....and those two scenes should be 'planned', like the Darga scene and the Mumbai convention where the entire sequences were shot properly with combined shots, two shots, masters shots for ambiance and close ups to emphasize the moments.
3. Develop the Anji Ranganath track....its interesting to see another couple.
4. I asked: Now that Rohan & Armaan have played their part (so to speak) in the Ashu Niddhi 'saga'...what next for them???? Do they simply go back to where they came from???
There was some other stuff which I did put forth, bit won't go into all that now. Also, please remember when you read the above, I am an actor, not a cv, hence I do not know the limitations faced by the cv....As an actor my thinking is programmed to perform according to a script provided to me, not created by me.
So take all of the above with a pinch of salt :))”

I totally agree with his suggestions. I was thinking about Nidhi’s coming back to the hospital on the day Dr Ashutosh & she confessed their love. In fact I became a fan of this serial because of its hospital setting only. I just loved to watch Dr Nidhi making stupid mistakes and Dr Ashutosh scolding her.

Anyways, lets wait & watch what happens next in this intensely interesting story. And once again a very Happy New Year.
